JoomlaWorks

Virtuemart & K2 integration a success!

Talk is cheap!

K2mart is here! Learn more and download here: http://www.joomlaworks.gr/k2mart

As you can see on the above screenshots, we have successfully integrated Virtuemart into K2. We're using a K2 plugin for that which can be installed just like any Joomla! plugin and what it will basically do is extend the K2 items forms with Virtuemart product details. You no longer have to maintain your products in Virtuemart. Just install the plugin (when publicly available!) and you can start building your catalog inside K2!

This also means you can extend your current K2 website with powerful cart capabilities using the Virtuemart e-commerce component for Joomla!.

As you can see on the live demo links below, we use K2 for any catalog requirements (with all the templating benefits that this has) and the K2-Virtuemart plugin to bring some cart info from Virtuemart. Once the user clicks on the "buy" button they get redirected to Virtuemart! Virtuemart will handle the cart functions, while K2 will handle the (amazing) presentation of your products!

K2 - Virtuemart integration in a grid of (K2) products: http://demo.getk2.org/en/categories/itemlist/category/6-bikes
K2 - Virtuemart integration inside a (K2) product: http://demo.getk2.org/en/categories/item/22-novara-duster-20-6-spee...

The styling of the Virtuemart elements is a bit simple on these demos, but since the plugin follows the MVC templating architecture, it's easy to style the output as you want from within your Joomla! template's folders!

The plugin will soon be available through JoomlaWorks. Any comments are welcome!
