Omar, Brilliant, thanks! Just what I was looking for. I was using Community Builder's login and needed this to update the K2 user group.

Long Winter added a discussion
Is there a way to make the pop up add item form close when users hit the "save" function... if so I suppose I would also need to know what file to edit the "Save" text so it says "Save and Close" Appreciate any help with this.

Go to the admin back-end. Go to Components -> K2 On the top right side there is an icon called "Parameters". You will find the options "selection-based tagging" or "free tagging". For the list choose "selection-based" Good luck

Welcome to the K2 community website!

K2 is the popular powerful content component for Joomla! with CCK-like features developed by JoomlaWorks, makers of fine Joomla! extensions since 2006.

It provides an out-of-the box integrated solution featuring rich content forms for items (think of Joomla! articles with additional fields for article images, videos, image galleries and attachments), nested-level categories, tags, comments, a system to extend the item base form with additional fields (similar to CCK for those acquainted with Drupal), a powerful plugin API to extend item, category and user forms, ACL, frontend editing, sub-templates and a lot more!

Using K2, you can transform your Joomla! website to a news/magazine site with author blogs, product catalogs, work portfolio, knowledge base, download/document manager, directory listing, event listing and more, all this bundled under one package! Since K2 is extensible with additional fields to its base item form, you can easily create category-specific content types, e.g. article, blog post, product page, directory listing.

Give K2 a try and you'll instantly love it! It's easy to use and fun to develop websites with! If you need any help or want to contribute to the project, join us here at the K2 community.

Get started

To get started, check out this quick step-by-step guide on installing and setting up K2 by Florante Bautista.

We will soon feature video tutorials to help new users get started with K2 and Joomla! 1.5! In the meantime, have a look at the K2 presentation videos shot at Joomla!Day Netherlands in June 2009 and at Joomla!Day Germany in September 2009. They are a great resource especially for newbies.

For Joomla! designers/developers

If you design Joomla! templates or develop Joomla! extensions that support K2, sign up, write a blog post and we will publish it on the community's frontpage to let K2 users know!

If you're a Joomla! extension developer specifically, you can immediately post your Joomla!/K2 extension on the related K2 extensions for Joomla! forum board.

New Version of DailyPraise Will Support K2

Each month we're rebooting our old templates in 2010, which means rebuilding the code with skills we've learned in the last couple of years, and updating to modern design trends. This month we're updating DailyPraise, one of our free templates.
We're completely restructuring the template to harness the power of K2 for a news site. This will be our first FREE/GPL K2 template!

K-Brain Joomla! K2 Template

hey Folks,
I decided to publish my custom K2 Template to give something back. Plz, excuse my bad english. For german Translation see the pdf including in the Download.

The template has been constructed on the basis of the original K2 template. I would again like to remind you that I have tailored the template to my needs. I publish this to show what is possible with Joomla! K2.

As I related to the programming is not the brightest, I'd appreciate suggestions… Continue

K2 moves to http://getk2.org

Starting from today, the entire K2 site network (main download site, community and demo sites) are migrating to a dedicated domain.

http://getk2.org

The reasons are clear:
- K2 has been a major success in less than a year (was released in late March 2009) and it's already been downloaded more than 150.000 times. It does deserve a dedicated domain by now!
- Major Joomla! template designers are steadily embracing K2 and we wanna prepare the ground for even more by… Continue
